Gym and Fitness Cleaning Across Lancashire
Rubber floors, matting, studio vinyl and equipment upholstery deep cleaned while you are closed. Specialist deep cleaning, scheduled so nothing stops and members never see us.

Why gym hygiene is judged on the floor and the padding
A member decides whether a gym is clean within about ten seconds of walking in, and the judgement is made on smell first. Odour in a fitness site is almost never airborne in origin. It is sweat held inside rubber flooring texture, inside matting, and inside the foam of bench pads and seat padding. Daily wiping keeps the top surface presentable, but it cannot pull anything back out of the material.
That is the gap we fill. We are a specialist deep cleaning team, so we come in periodically with commercial extraction and scrubbing equipment, remove what has accumulated inside the surfaces, and hand the site back before you open. Your own team keeps doing the daily round. The two jobs are different, and doing one does not remove the need for the other.
What a gym owner actually gets out of this
- Fewer hygiene complaints, because the source of the smell is removed rather than covered
- Flooring and matting that last longer, because embedded grit is not being ground in every day
- A documented cleaning record with RAMS and insurance details for inspections and audits
- Work carried out while the gym is shut, so no class, no PT slot and no peak hour is lost
- A written price per visit, so it can go into a budget rather than being guessed at
Area by area, what we clean and how
Every zone in a gym soils differently, so each one gets its own method and its own interval.
Free weight and functional areas
Rubber tiles, poured rubber, heavy duty matting
Low moisture scrub with a rotary or oscillating machine, then rinse and extract so body oils come out of the surface texture instead of being spread across it.
The fastest soiling zone in most gyms, so it usually sits at the front of any schedule.
Studios and class spaces
Sports vinyl, safety flooring, studio matting, occasional carpet
Deep clean with a pH appropriate detergent, agitate, then rinse to a low residue finish so the floor is not tacky or slippery for the first class back.
Soiling here is sweat led rather than soil led, so it needs a rinse focused method more often than a heavy scrub.
Cardio decks
Rubber, vinyl, carpet tiles under and around frames
Machines are worked around rather than moved, with hand tools used along the frame lines and under the deck edges where a mop never reaches.
Steady soiling with concentrated marks under each unit, so hand detail matters more than machine passes.
Mats and loose matting
Stretching mats, mat stacks, interlocking mats
Cleaned both sides and dried properly, because a mat cleaned on the top face only puts trapped moisture and odour straight back onto the floor.
Often the single biggest odour source in a gym and the one most frequently missed.
Equipment upholstery
Bench pads, seat padding, backrests, upholstered plinths
Upholstery extraction with a hand tool and a deodorising rinse, worked at a moisture level the foam can give back quickly.
Padding absorbs sweat continuously, so it needs its own interval rather than being lumped in with the floors.
Changing rooms and shower areas
Tiled floors, grout lines, resin and safety flooring
Periodic deep clean of the hard flooring with grout line agitation and thorough rinsing, so the surface stops holding the film that daily mopping leaves behind.
A slower cycle deep clean that sits behind, not instead of, your day to day cleaning round.
Reception, corridors and stairs
Carpet, carpet tiles, entrance matting, hard floor runs
Hot water extraction on carpet and carpet tiles, with traffic lane pre treatment on the walked lines and hand tool work on stair treads.
This is the first thing a prospective member sees, so it earns a place on the schedule even though it soils slowly.

Access, timing and getting the site back on time
Most 24 hour and long hours sites give us a window between the last realistic member and the first, which in practice means late night or very early morning. Where a site closes properly, an overnight slot is simpler and we can cover more ground in one visit.
On larger floors we work in zones and hand each one back as it dries, rather than closing the whole gym at once. If you run a rota of classes, tell us the timetable and we will sequence the studios around it.
- Key holder, code entry or a member of your team on site, whichever you prefer
- Zoned working so a floor section or studio is released as soon as it is dry
- Rubber and vinyl effectively dry after rinse and dry down
- Extracted carpet typically back in service within one to two hours
- Risk assessment and method statement supplied before the first visit
Odour and air quality, treated at source
When a gym smells, three materials are usually responsible: matting, rubber flooring and upholstered padding. All three are porous or textured enough to hold moisture and body oils, and all three release it again as the room warms up and fills with people. That is why the smell is worst at peak times and mildest first thing.
Our approach is mechanical and chemical rather than cosmetic. Agitate the surface so the residue is released, apply a deodorising treatment that works on the residue itself, then extract and dry properly so nothing is left damp. A floor left damp will smell worse in a week than it did before it was cleaned.
Cleaner surfaces also mean less airborne dust and grit being kicked up by foot traffic, which matters in a room full of people breathing hard.
