Deep Cleaning for Wall-to-Wall Contract Carpeting
Broadloom carpet provides a seamless, premium finish but requires powerful extraction to manage soil loads in high-traffic commercial settings.
Contract broadloom is designed for durability, often featuring dense low-loop piles or heavy-duty twist constructions. Unlike tiles, broadloom is a continuous surface, meaning spills can wick further and soil can hide deep within the primary and secondary backings.
For large premises like hotels or corridors, we employ high-performance hot water extraction (HWE). This is the only method that provides the flushing action necessary to remove deep-seated allergens, bacteria, and grit from the very base of the carpet.

- Seamless finish requires consistent, edge-to-edge cleaning.
- High-pressure extraction flushes soil from deep within the pile.
- Dual-backing systems require careful moisture management.
- Ideal for acoustic insulation in schools and care homes.
- Pre-spray treatments tailored to heavy traffic and oil-based soiling.
Managing the 'well' effect in high-traffic corridors
In long corridors, footfall is incredibly concentrated. This creates a 'well' where soil is driven deep into the fibres. Our process uses heavy-duty pre-conditioners that stay on the surface to break down oils, followed by a high-temperature rinse that pulls the sludge out before it can settle.
We pay particular attention to the 'wall-to-wall' edges, where filtration soiling often creates dark lines near the skirting boards.
Health and hygiene in care environments
In care homes and schools, carpet is more than a floor covering; it is a filter. It traps dust and allergens, but once full, it can no longer perform this role. Our deep extraction sanitises the fibres, removing the organic matter that can lead to odours and hygiene concerns.
The short version
- • Broadloom requires high-performance extraction for true deep cleaning.
- • HWE is essential for hygiene and allergen removal in public spaces.
- • Proper drying is critical for maintaining the carpet's secondary backing.
