Professional Maintenance for Polished Concrete Floors
Polished concrete is the ultimate 'industrial-chic' floor, but it's not maintenance-free. It requires specific care to keep its lustre and resist staining.
Polished concrete is created by mechanically grinding and polishing a concrete slab with diamond abrasives. It is incredibly tough, but concrete is naturally porous. Without a high-quality 'densifier' and regular professional burnishing, the surface can become 'dusty' and lose its reflective quality.
We provide specialised maintenance for polished concrete in Preston and the surrounding areas. Our process involves deep cleaning to remove microscopic grit, followed by high-speed burnishing with diamond-infused pads to 'pop' the shine and keep the surface densified.

- Removes surface 'dusting' and restores reflective clarity.
- High-speed burnishing hardens the surface for better wear.
- Application of 'guards' and 'densifiers' to prevent staining.
- Ideal for large-scale retail and modern office environments.
- Low-VOC and eco-friendly maintenance process.
Understanding 'Concrete Dusting'
If your polished concrete floor feels 'chalky' or leaves a white residue on your shoes, it is 'dusting'. This is a sign that the surface is wearing down. Our professional cleaning and densifying process chemically hardens the top layer of the concrete, stopping the dusting and making the floor much more durable.
We use specialised lithium-based densifiers that penetrate the concrete and react with the free lime to create a harder, more compact surface.
The Importance of Burnishing
Regular mopping is not enough for polished concrete. To maintain the shine, the floor needs to be burnished. We use 1500+ RPM machines that generate heat, allowing our diamond pads to 'close' the pores of the concrete and maintain that glass-like finish.
The short version
- • Polished concrete requires chemical densification to prevent dusting.
- • High-speed burnishing is essential for maintaining the floor's reflective finish.
- • Prompt cleaning of spills is vital as concrete remains slightly porous even when polished.
