Quarry tiles are unglazed clay tiles that are exceptionally durable and naturally slip-resistant. However, because they are unglazed, they have a degree of porosity. In a kitchen environment, grease and fats soak into the tile and the grout, creating a slippery, unhygienic, and dark-looking floor.
