Facilities managers and contractors handing back a space after building or refurbishment work
Cleaning floors after building or refurbishment work finishes
Building dust and trade residue settle into carpet pile and dull hard flooring in ways a standard site clean rarely fully removes.
Refurbishment works leave more than visible mess — plasterboard dust, paint overspray and adhesive residue work their way into carpet fibres and settle into the texture of stone and vinyl floors, often not fully visible until the space is back in daily use and foot traffic starts lifting it.
General site cleaners typically deal with surface debris and bagged waste rather than a proper extraction clean of the floor covering itself. We come in afterwards to deal specifically with what's left in the carpet pile or bonded to hard flooring.
This works well as the final step before handover, fit-out completion or reopening to staff and the public.

- Removes construction dust, paint spots and adhesive residue from carpet and hard floors
- Timed as the final step before handover or reopening
- Complements, rather than replaces, general site clearance cleaning
- Covers carpet, stone and vinyl flooring across the works area
- Quoted on the actual floor area affected by the works
What building works leave behind in floors
Fine dust from cutting, drilling and sanding settles deep into carpet pile well beyond what a vacuum reaches. On stone and vinyl, the same dust combines with foot traffic to create a dulled, gritty surface.
Paint spots, sealant smears and adhesive marks from fit-out trades also tend to be spotted only once furniture goes back in and the space is lived in properly.
Where this fits against the general site clean
Most refurb projects include a builder's clean or site clearance for rubble, packaging and surface dust. That's a different job to a proper extraction clean of carpet or a restorative clean of stone and vinyl.
We're usually brought in after the site clean, as the last stage before the space is handed back or reopened.
Treating stone and vinyl after trades have finished
Paint, sealant and adhesive residue on stone or vinyl floors needs care to remove without damaging the surface finish underneath — we use methods suited to the specific floor type rather than a generic scrub.
- Paint and sealant spot removal
- Adhesive residue treatment
- Restoring dulled stone or vinyl finish
- Final extraction clean of affected carpet
Scheduling around a handover date
Refurb timelines slip, so we build in flexibility around your likely completion date rather than fixing a slot too far in advance and having to rearrange.
The short version
- • We clean the floor covering itself after works, distinct from general site clearance.
- • Best scheduled as the last step before handover or reopening.
- • Covers carpet, stone and vinyl affected by dust, paint or adhesive.
